This appear to be the first edition with “illustrations hand-coloured by the artist.” The type size is small, in two columns. With illustrations usually only one column wide, it makes them smaller than in the original edition. There are two coulmn wide illustrations, but they are fewer. The book contain some full page illustration, and all the maps that were in the original edition are included. Contains an Introduction by Brian Sibley.

The interior of this book and the one listed directly above are same. The difference is the design of hard cover and dust jacket. My own impression is that the above volume was produced first, but then shortly latter the cover was changed to be more appealing. The hardcover and dustjacket use the Narnian landscape that would be used in many later editions as the end papers.

This is the first of several editions. It contains an Introduction by Brian Sibley.
The hard cover and the dustjacket are those of the map of Narnia by Baynes.

Illustrator: Pauline Baynes. All of the original illustrations appear in color. The maps from The Horse and His Boy, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Silver Chair are printed in a color two-page format. Map of the Lone Islands and the Diagram of the Dawn Treader are treaterd on one page each. A number of illustations are enlarged to fill a page. The text is in two columns, which makes reading easier in this small type design. Contains a Preface by Douglas Gresham, stepson of C.S. Lewis The hardcover and dustjacket art work is the color map of Narnia by Baynes.
